Everything starts with a one-on-one discovery call and your Eyecare B.O.S.S. assessment. Together, they help us write your plan and match you with an advisor. Your plan then draws on three kinds of support, depending on your goals.
Start with Your Assessment. Then We Go Deeper.
01
Step 1
Before we build your plan, you’ll need to complete the Eyecare B.O.S.S. assessment. It gives us a starting point across Accountability, Revenue, People, Experience and Data—not the whole picture of your practice.
In your one-on-one discovery call, we’ll talk through your results, understand what you want to achieve, and dive into other areas that matter to you. That could include:
Your finances, profitability, and opportunities for growth
Your team, day-to-day operations, and patient experience
Adding a location, purchasing a practice, or planning an exit—and your goals as an owner
We’ll combine Power Practice’s original coaching, tools, and services with the Eyecare B.O.S.S. framework to build your written plan. Real practice data helps us set priorities, put changes into action, and update the plan as we learn what’s working. You don’t need to choose a package before we understand what you need.
Where Your Plan Can Go from There.
Your assessment and discovery call help us decide where a deeper review will be useful. Our focused programs turn financial analysis, team feedback, and observations of your practice into specific actions—not just a report to put on a shelf.
Practice Financial AnalysisReview your profit-and-loss statement and chart of accounts, compare with Project UP peers, and build a prioritized roadmap to improve profitability.
Power AuditReview ten patient charts for over- and under-billing, so you can identify missed revenue and billing risks.
Frame Board AnalysisAnalyze which brands sell, how your frame board is arranged, and where inventory can work harder. Use the findings to inform vendor discussions and a board optimization plan.
B.O.S.S. meeting critiqueA coach observes your leadership and team meetings for six weeks, scores them against the framework, and provides a report on improving decisions and follow-through.
Two-day on-site visitObserve patient flow, handoffs between roles, and optical conversion as they happen. Leave with a prioritized debrief and a practical fix list.
Organizational Climate SurveyGather anonymous employee feedback, build a culture scorecard, and identify actions to improve engagement and retention.
HR AnalysisReview team fit, staff reviews, handbook gaps, and disciplinary processes to identify where your people systems need attention.
03
Patient Experience
"I want to see what patients actually experience."
Patient Experience & Mystery ShopAudit the phone and scheduling experience as a new patient, including hold times and the first contact with your team.
Digital presence and review analysisLook at your online presence and patient reviews through the eyes of someone deciding whether to choose your practice.
A patient-journey action planBring the findings together in a scorecard and a concrete action plan your team can begin working on.
Patient sentiment monitoringKeep listening to patient feedback over time so you can spot recurring concerns and decide what to improve next.
04
Expanding, Buying or Exiting
"A practice has come up for sale. Is it a good deal?"
New Location Readiness & ForecastingAssess demand, competition, and demographics alongside financial projections before committing to a new location.
Acquisition Deep DiveEvaluate a target practice, review its valuation, and map the opportunities and risks before you negotiate or buy.
Non-Biased Exit StrategyCompare options such as an associate buy-in, private equity, or an outright sale, with independent planning around your goals and timeline.
From Recommendations to Implementation.
We don’t stop at identifying opportunities. Coaching sessions work against your written plan, your practice data informs the next decisions, and your team gets support to put changes into practice. Where you need structured implementation, 90-day cycles focus on installing a system, reviewing the results, and resetting the plan.
Most owners know something is off. Very few know exactly what. That's what the assessment is for. It's the first step for every client, and the most useful place to start.
